Today Was Interesting...

With only a few hours of sleep, I was woken up to answer some studio design questions of the workers. Went out, checked the site, and went back into my room. I tried to get back to sleep and get a few hours more in since the installers of the air conditioning were to arrive today. Good thing they arrived 2 hours late that I was able to get some more sleep.

When I finally woke up again, I assisted the installers, explained things, then I went out to figure out the studio plate, which has been giving me a hard time. Seems I need to have it customized. I was hoping to find some store which had it pre-made already coz there are a lot online. Oh well...

Most of the day was spent waiting and watching over the installation of the aircon so it's all good. It was such a nice feeling having it installed. Just goes to show that the studio is really near completion.

Highlight of my day however aside from the aircon was that youtube link, that the props tweeted about my channel when i brought it to their attention. Glad they approved of it!

Anyway, I'm uploading more live videos as I type this. I'm so sleepy already so I'll hit the sack once my upload finishes.

It's almost there guys!!!!!

A Quick Review of Salt...

Just saw Salt last night. It was pretty much not planned but still worth it... especially if it's free (thanks Hope!) hehe

I had high expectations about the movie. It was good but those expectations weren't met I'm afraid. Don't get me wrong, it's worth seeing but with the hype and with Angelina Jolie in it, I was expecting something more... but hey, it's Jolie, right? It's always worth it haha

Seriously though, the movie was ok. The story was nice and the casting was alright. If you're one of those people who keep on guessing what would happen while watching, you might guess the twist but I'm not one of those people. I'd rather sit and enjoy the movie as it goes along so the twist was pretty much unexpected.

The action scenes were pretty cool and the chase scenes were engaging enough. It really made the movie a nice "ride."

I've read that Angelina Jolie's role was initially supposed to be played by Tom Cruise so that was an interesting thing to read about it.

Plus, if you've seen it and if it feels a bit open-ended, they hinted at having a sequel if it does good. They mentioned shooting in a different location and all...

So go see it and Enjoy! I've missed a lot of movies the past weeks, I've been making up for it last Sunday - Inception, Monday - Sorcerer's Apprentice, and last night hehe

Studio Crunchtime

Ive been told that the studio structure will be done by next week. I can't believe time flew so fast! Still, there are a few phases to finish. I still have flooring, carpets, studio doors, acoustics, lighting, and aircon. All of which I am still trying to figure out how to pay for. God will provide :) My task yesterday was to look for a studio wall panel for the recording room for connecting mics and stuff. Unfortunately, we don't have prefabs like the ones sold abroad so I'll have to have it made. Today I need to call and look for an aircon supplier and have it delivered by Friday! It's getting there. God is good:) Cy

Food Poisoning...

This week was baaaaad...

Came from Zamboanga and while I was there, I don't know if it was some food I ate or the water but my tummy had it bad. I even skipped some planned trips just because I couldn't risk it... you guys know what I mean.

First night experiencing it was bad. I was in so much pain and I hardly slept that night. I even felt feverish in the middle of my sleep I had to turn down the AC's thermostat...

When I got back to Manila, I thought everything was ok already and the very next day, I was in worse pain than the first. I "almost" made the trip to the hospital but decided to wait it out and I'm glad i did. It was one of my worst experiences though and the most painful I've had in all my life. I won't forget that Thursday morning. I was in so much pain, my body was already cramping...

But God is good and I'm on my way to recovery. It's just been bed rest and just keeping myself stuck at home. All will be well soon :)

Studio Update! - July 22, 2010

It's been a while and I'm a bit sad I wasn't able to do a week by week update on the developments on the studio. I hope I could keep this up though.

Anyway, here are updated photos of the studio. It's not yet done and a wee bit far from it but it's progressing nicely. Fortunately, I'm relying on God now to provide for the costs since it went WAAAAY over budget so at this point, it's all faith!

If you look at the photos, the studio's taken shape already and at this point, my favorite is the shelves haha I've been trying to think of where to put stuff already to clear up the space all my studio gear have been taking up inside the house while waiting for the studio to finish.

At this point, it's still structural. But my acoustics consultant/contractor came by this afternoon to check up on things and to discuss some details. He dropped off samples of the materials he'll be using.

Pretty excited. My task now is to look for an aircon supplier and to look for some patch bay for the recording walls...

Thank you Lord for your faithfulness!!

Edge Lucena 4th Anniversary

I know this is way delayed...

May 28-29, 2010

with God's perfect timing, I was able to do the gig for The Edge Radio Lucena. I almost didn't make it but thank God I did!

This is not the full album because I have an upload limit unfortunately so I just picked bits and pieces of what happened and the scenes and places I went to and saw.

First part of the album was the unfortunate trip to Lucena. For more details on that, read http://silverfilter.blogspot.com/2010/05/lucena.html

I wasn't able to follow up that entry so sorry!

Anyway, after that trip to Lucena, you'll see some photos of where we stayed there. It's a nice place, which I wasn't able to enjoy fully... I wasn't able to take a dip in the pool! But yeah, the place is really nice. I actually plan to go back there.

Later in the album, you'll see the gig pics.

After that, there's a shot of the authentic Lucban longga we had for breakfast... CHAMPION!!! (coz I'm a longga freak).

There's a barrage of photos after that where we took a walk and toured the place. As I mentioned, I liked the place and so I took lots of pictures of it. This was just a lazy afternoon touring the place and the place with the lake is where we had our lunch. VERY relaxing. I liked their military jeep private collection!

Anyway, 2nd night, we have another set so we see another batch of photos on stage.

It was quite a gig since the sets I did was in the middle of bands or before a band so setup and take down was crucial and quick. It was good practice though. It wasn't really the dance crowd we'd all expect but I just went as an ambassador of live electronic music, so it was all good! It was nice though how some people really appreciated what I was doing. Surprisingly, it's the very people you wouldn't expect! But for them to actually come up and show their appreciation to my music was something else. It was very nice of them even if some showed it in funny ways.

So there, a short story into the gig that was. Hope the photo docu i made somehow gives you an idea :)

God bless!
